![]() Maybe they don't want to show off the "cheap" version to avoid abuse but it still doesn't exactly show the developer has a lot of faith in their product when the only way to find said product is through Google.Įventually, I did find the product and believe it or not, Dassault was happy to take my money which seems to be about the only service they were happy to provide without issue. They don't advertise it in a way that can be easily discovered on the main page or list in on any of the "subscription" pages. ![]() Its confusing to even manage to find Dassaults shiny new Solidworks for Makers service at all. ![]() The problems really began before I even paid a penny. Also, unlike many users, I'm not anti cloud service and think the cloud can be a very useful tool if implemented correctly. I'm not against paying for software that I do actually use and $10 a month or $100 a year isn't a bad deal, but I expect that software to work when I do pay for it. Despite this, I thought I'd give it a fair shake and compare it to other products I've used and see for myself. Worst case scenario, I was out $10 and it seems to have come to that worst case scenario as predicted.Īs I said above, I somewhat knew what I was getting into and that many users don't recommend solidworks for makers. ![]() Full disclosure, I somewhat knew what I was getting into but I thought I'd try the 3d experience for makers for a month.
