The difference of this is that the music and dialogue are mushed together. In Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, music is huge because this movie is a musical. A happy tone has happy music, a scary tone will have scary music. Lastly, the music is the music that plays in the background and is also described by Goodykoontz & Jacobs (2014 ) to set a particular tone. ![]() Sound effects are there to build fear, excitement and anticipation. Goodykoontz & Jacobs (2014) describes sound effects as the noises from every thing that happens in the movie and even states “ the sounds of explosions might as well be a credited member of the cast” about the sound effects from Transformers (Chapter 8.4). The dialogue is how we know what is going on and helps build excitement or fear. There was a time when there wasn’t any sound in films and the dialogue existed as movements between actors and actresses for each other.
